Creative Inlet & Outlet
Whether in the physical world or on my Instagram feed, I’m always eager to feast my eyes on the visual arts. I enjoy teasing out the intentions and techniques behind what I see because there’s always a lesson to be learned, which in turn enriches the way I see the world. On occasion, I’m even inspired to make art of my own.

I was filled with ennui. Seemingly everything made me cry.
On an episode of the podcast 99% Invisible, I learned about a Japanese spirit that protected against pandemics. Inspired, I designed an enamel pin and mailed it to everyone I cared about, hoping this amulet would keep them safe. I even went through great and embarrassing lengths to get one in the hands of Roman Mars—the podcast host, but that's a story for later.
